With the Golden Olive Awards, Birzeit University’s Internet Team recognized exceptional Palestinian websites every year. They encouraged a high quality internet presence, and would sometimes even forgo awarding any sites awards in certain categories if they felt none made the cut. Presigious! in ’98, only 13% of websites received awards.
